I did my Bachelors in Computer and started career as a Software engineer. Worked for 2 years in IT industry performing different roles from individual contributor to Project co-ordinator. Later I discovered that my right part of brain was unused since quite some time. That was the beginning of exploring the Designer in me. I did Master in Design, specializing in Interaction Design from IDC, IIT Bombay. I have tried my hands in various aspects of design and technology during my academics and professional life and find myself suitable to optimally utilize both parts of my brain :D.
I currently work at Symantec Software Pvt. Ltd. based in India as a User Interface Designer
My specialization lies in Interaction Design (aka User Experience Design). I have experience in research and working for consumer as well as enterprise level products. These involve Product Interaction design (tangible media), User Interface design (tangible and PC based).
Immersive media design and Gesture based applications have always been my research interest.
Though I have worked on core programming languages like C, C++, JAVA and server technologies like JSP, ColdFusion, ASP their knowledge have faded with time as I have taken up Design as my primary work. However my love for Flash and Web has kept me abreast with latest web programming platforms like Flash, AS3, PHP, AIR.
As an Interaction Designer I have thorough knowledge and hands-on on User Research and Prototyping techniques.
Apart from work I enjoy playing with my kid, board games and exploring the latest in technology and design. Though I am not an avid reader, I do enjoy inspirational and design related books (well sci-fi novels have been a great pass time). I have an insane habit of trying out new stuff, especially related to Flash, Interaction design, Gesture based applications. I go forward implementing concepts that I like.
